Special Education Teacher/Higher Level Math Teacher

Matt is beginning his first year at Woodhouse Academy. He graduated from Hamden High School in 2010, going on to earn his bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Eastern Connecticut State University and completing his Master’s in Math Education at the University of Bridgeport. With a deep passion for both math and teaching, Matt is looking forward to helping our students grow and succeed at Woodhouse. Matt has completed 12 years in education and 8 years teaching. His previous stints include teaching Math at East Hartford High School, East Hartford Middle School, and Roberto Clemente Academy in New Haven. In addition to these 8 years, he worked as an intern at Branford High and a Behavior Manager at Hamden Collaborative Learning Center.

When Matt is not teaching, he serves as the Assistant Varsity Baseball Coach and Strength Coach for the Hamden High baseball team. These roles allow him to connect with students outside the classroom and support their personal development through sports and teamwork. When he is not in school or on the field, he enjoys playing golf, watching sports, Jeopardy, and listening to audiobooks.
