Therapeutic Services

Integrated Support
Throughout the Day

Therapeutic support is woven into daily school life. Our certified school social worker leads the therapeutic program, and a consulting supervisor meets with staff weekly for case reviews to ensure coordinated care.

Small-Group Counseling

Students participate in weekly small-group counseling facilitated by our school social worker, in collaboration with each student’s outside therapist . We draw from Behaviorism/Mindfulness, Collaborative Problem-Solving (CPS), and the Strengths Perspective. Skill areas include:

  • Social skills
  • Self-advocacy
  • Executive functioning
  • Emotional regulation
  • Bracketing

The social worker is on campus full time and available throughout the school day.

Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS)

We approach behavior as a learning opportunity, not something to punish. There are no point systems or levels. Instead, our staff partners directly with students to identify underlying problems and build social-emotional and executive functioning skills. Our CPS approach provides a non-punitive environment grounded in consistency and collaboration.

Community and Daily Routines

A strong sense of community supports emotional growth. Students and staff interact by first name, staff facilitates peer connections, and the week includes class trips and community seminars to share appreciations and acknowledgements. Routines-such as whole-school discussions help students transition, build confidence, and practice communication.

School Avoidance Support

Woodhouse supports students experiencing school avoidance through integrated therapeutic support and small, structured classes. Our team helps students manage stress, build confidence, and re-engage in learning. Many students who struggled in larger settings find success here and, when they’re ready, reintegrate into their district schools.
