Admissions Process
Woodhouse Academy considers students on a rolling basis, as space allows, and when a student is determined to be an appropriate fit for our educational and therapeutic environment.
Step 1: Initial Inquiry
Families or referring professionals begin by reaching out to learn more about Woodhouse Academy and to determine whether the program may be a good initial fit.
Step 2: Campus Visit and Conversation
All prospective students and their parents or guardians are required to visit the school. During this visit, families meet with school leadership and selected members of the educational team to explore the student’s needs, strengths, and readiness for the Woodhouse environment.
Step 3: Student Experience Day
Prospective students spend time attending classes to experience the school day firsthand, connect with faculty and peers, and gain a better sense of the Woodhouse community. Parent conversations with current families can also be arranged upon request.
Step 4: Application Submission
Families complete a full application, which includes the following materials:
- Application form
- Academic records from the past three years, including transcripts where applicable
- Current IEP or 504 Plan (if applicable)
- College Board accommodation letter (if applicable)
- Standardized testing results
- Psychological and/or educational evaluations
Records and documentation collected as applicable, with Release of Information coordinated through the district when relevant
Step 5: Review and Decision
Once all application materials are received, the Woodhouse team conducts a comprehensive review to determine whether the program can appropriately support the student.
- For district-referred students, the Education Director will communicate the decision to the district and the family.
- For private or unilateral placements, families will be notified directly by the Education Director.
Woodhouse Academy is committed to a thoughtful and timely admissions process. We understand that families are often navigating uncertainty, and we strive to move with clarity and care while completing the due diligence necessary to ensure the right fit for each student.
